Introduction to Federal Criminal Practice: A Primer for the State Practitioner CLE

Published: April 23, 2018

Using a multi-defendant drug case as our theme, the members of the Northern District bar and bench will introduce state law criminal practitioners to the most important and fundamental aspects of federal criminal practice, including: a basic overview of the operation and structure of the federal criminal court, the basics of bail and bail hearings, plea bargaining and cooperation, sentencing guidelines, and updates, pit-falls and problems of federal criminal practice.  This CLE is suitable for any attorney, but will cater to those attorneys who would like to make the transition from state criminal law practice to federal criminal law practice.
