The NDNY-FCBA CLE Committee will present this program in conjunction with their 2014 Annual Golf Outing on Monday, August 11, 2014, at the Colgate Inn, One Payne Street, Hamilton, New York.
The program will be presented by Peter A. Jones, Esq., Bond Schoeneck & King , PLLC, Brian J. LaClair, Esq., Blitman & King, LLP, and Barnett L. Horowitz, Resident Officer, Region 3 Albany, National Labor Relations Board.
In summary, the Regional Director for Region 13 of the National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”) recently ruled that Northwestern University football players are “employees” for purposes of the National Labor Relations Act. The Regional Director’s Decision has potential implications for colleges and universities that extend far beyond the “four corners” of the decision. The Panel will discuss the arguments made by the union and the university, the Regional Director’s Decision, the appeal, and the decision’s potential impact for collegiate sports and beyond. Get out your clubs and join us on Monday, August 11, 2014, for the Annual NDNY- FCBA Golf Event with the Federal Judiciary at the Seven Oaks Golf Club, 2 East Lake Road, Hamilton New York. Please see link: Seven Oaks Golf Course.
Buffet lunch at the Colgate Inn (One Payne Street, Hamilton, New York) will begin at noon followed by a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start at Seven Oaks. Cocktails will be served at the Colgate Inn at 6:00 p.m. with a buffet dinner to follow at 7:00 p.m. Registration closes on August 4, 2014.
